Alberta Provincial Addendum
1. Governing law
Alberta-related disputes are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply another jurisdiction.
2. Consumer protection
2.1 Alberta consumers may have rights under the *Consumer Protection Act* (Alberta) and associated regulations.
2.2 All-in pricing and clear disclosure of service fees, delivery fees, and small-order fees apply before order confirmation.
2.3 Weighted grocery/meat items: final price depends on actual weight at preparation.
3. Privacy
3.1 HalalMap handles personal information in accordance with PIPEDA. Alberta's *Personal Information Protection Act* (PIPA) may also apply to certain private-sector activities in Alberta.

4. Taxes
4.1 GST (5%) applies federally. Alberta has no provincial sales tax (PST) as of this version.
4.2 Merchants remain responsible for GST on taxable goods unless marketplace facilitator rules apply.
5. Drivers and couriers
5.1 Drivers are independent contractors responsible for:
- Valid Alberta driver's licence (or applicable licence for their vehicle class);
- Vehicle insurance meeting Alberta minimums;
- Compliance with Alberta traffic safety laws.
5.2 HalalMap does not guarantee offer volume or minimum earnings while online.
6. Halal marketplace
6.1 Merchants listing halal-certified products in Alberta must maintain valid certification from a recognized authority and provide documents upon request.
6.2 HalalMap displays submitted certificates but does not conduct on-site halal audits unless separately contracted.
